Vision is the foundation for success, without a vision, people can never fulfill their dreams and reach their desired destination. This is the lesson that I've learned from viewing "The Power of Vision." This documentary film has inspired me to start acting on my dreams rather than just imagining them in my head. It made me realize that no matter how many dreams I have for the future, they will never come true if I do not act upon them. Therefore, to start off, I've listed some of the many dreams that I have and how I plan on realizing them.
1. Start my own business, perhaps open a restaurant.
2. Purchase a house for my family.
3. Expand my restaurant into a hotel restaurant.
4. Donate money to build schools for the children living in the poor regions of China.
5. Adopt a child.
To make my first dream come true, I've started saving 2/3 of my paychecks and building up my credit for future loans by avoiding late credit card payments. However, knowing that no matter how much I am saving right now, it will never be enough for even the down payment of the business, I am also on the search for possible candidates as business partners. So far, I have found two individuals with whom I share this vision.
The rest of my dreams depend heavily on the outcome of my first. In order to buy a house for my family and expand the restaurant into a hotel restaurant, I must work extra hard in making the restaurant into a profitable one. I must save up all the profits from the restaurant and avoid big personal expenses such as taking long vacations. Also in order to help build sufficient amount of schools in the poor regions of China, I must donate 1/2 of the profit derived from my business. Lastly, in order to adopt a child, I must build up the financial supports that she needs and provide a loving home for her.

Good luck with all your visions of the future! I hope you become successful with your future restaurant so you will be able to donate to the poor regions of China. Children do not get the right amount of education, if any at all. There's so much potential in everyone of them and every donation really helps. And congrats to your decision of adopting a child. There's a lot of paperwork to go through to adopt a child, but stability and a loving home will surely help you bring her home! Good luck with everything!
ReplyDelete"4. Donate money to build schools for the children living in the poor regions of China.
ReplyDelete5. Adopt a child." I'm agree that your #4 and #5 visions, we should give our hands to help those people when they need us. Very kind of you, good luck.
It's great that you know how to save well. Although 2/3 of your paycheck might not seem like much now, it all adds up. I have a friend who was a waiter at a restaurant and saved his paychecks for as long as I can remember. He began investing it in little things here and there until he made enough to purchase a house, and recently opened up his own clothing store at the age of 23.
ReplyDeleteYou will be a great philanthropist. But yeah of course you will need to be in good economic standing before you can help others. Adopting a child is interesting... There are many responsibilities of being ones' parent. A child can only go through one childhood in life. I think it would a great challenge for you to give a child a loving home. Anyways, a great vision is a vision with action. You will never know that you have helped a child if you don't do it.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever considered to open small take out restaurants? If you offer really good food to people, they will appreciate it! Have you seen how many small restaurants in NYC where huge lines build up (like Shake Shack)? Im pretty sure owner makes good money. And open such place should be cheaper than a restaurant. Then you could expand...
ReplyDeleteThe vision which stands out to me is:
ReplyDelete4. Donate money to build schools for the children living in the poor regions of China.
That is a very thoughtful goal to have. We sometimes forget just how lucky we are to have any type of education, let alone a good one. There are so many people in the world who don't get to have any type of schooling because they can't afford it and the neighborhoods they live in can't afford to have schools in it. I hope you achieve this goal one day.
I'm glad that you also want to give back to your country. Poverty had a big impact on me and how I view the world. I feel as it is one of my duties to give back to the world, specially my place of origin, and to those less fortunate than me. I've also always wanted to open up a restaurant. Well, actually more of a bakery/coffee shop. But I never thought of it as a way to support my goal of helping other people. You are very ambitious.
